World Mental Health Day: Supporting Missions That Matter

At Idea Hall, we believe that good work begins with great purpose, and this month, that purpose takes on special meaning.

As the world comes together to recognize World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we’re reminded of the power of compassion, connection, and care. Across our communities, our clients are doing remarkable work to create healthier communities, expand access to support, and help people feel seen and understood.

This month’s Goodness Report shines a light on two of our clients, BeWell OC and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, whose missions are transforming how we think about and experience mental health awareness and care.

BeWell OC: Mental Health Access in Motion

bewellOC

Our client, BeWell OC, is redefining what accessible mental health care looks like. Their innovative, countywide model brings together public, private, and nonprofit partners to create a comprehensive system of care that’s focused on people, not processes.

In 2024 alone, BeWell OC recorded 25,000+ client encounters, provided 7,000+ referrals through their Care Navigation Team, and logged more than 13,900 hours of Mobile Response Team dispatches, saving taxpayers an estimated $1.3 million in avoided law enforcement costs.

Behind each of those numbers are stories of courage, healing, and hope. From individuals finding stability, to families reconnecting after the crisis, BeWell OC’s impact reaches deep into the heart of Orange County.

We’re proud to partner with BeWell OC and continue supporting their mission to make mental health care more human, more connected, and more effective for all through strategic communications, media relations, creative campaigns, and community engagement. By helping bring their message of care and connection to life across Orange County – from thought leadership and storytelling to social media and press coverage – we’re honored to help amplify BeWell OC’s mission to revolutionize mental health care.

Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health: Amplifying Voices of Unity

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) believes that healing begins with listening and sharing, and their quarterly Stakeholder Newsletter, The Quarterly, gives that belief a powerful voice.

The latest edition for Q3 of 2025, “Voices of Unity: Centering Culture, Compassion & Connection,” celebrates the diversity of Los Angeles County through personal stories, reflections, and creative works that honor how culture shapes mental wellness

From poetry to lived-experience essays, each contribution underscores the Department’s commitment to inclusion, empathy, and understanding.

At Idea Hall, we’re proud to support the Department in developing and designing The Quarterly, helping craft the stories, visuals, and outreach that bring each issue to life. Through this storytelling platform, the Department connects thousands of residents to vital resources like the 24/7 Help Line and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, bridging the gap between awareness and action. Every issue is a reminder that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, but is cultural, communal, and deeply human.

The Goodness Check-In

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, we’re taking a moment to pause and check in. Our days move fast, but small moments of reflection can help us slow down, reconnect, and refocus on what really matters.

Take a quiet minute to ask yourself:

  • 🌤️ What’s something that made you smile this week?
  • 💛 Who is someone you appreciate and can reach out to today?
  • 🧘 What helps you reset and feel grounded when things get busy?

There’s no rush, no perfect answer, but an opportunity to breathe and notice how you’re doing.

Even the smallest acts of care can create space for clarity, connection, and calm.

Supporting Missions That Matter

As we reflect on mental health this month to commemorate World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded of why we do what we do. At Idea Hall, we believe that marketing can do more than move audiences. It can move communities.

Our partnerships with organizations like BeWell OC and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health remind us that when storytelling is grounded in empathy and authenticity, it has the power to create real change. From strategic communication and creative campaigns to community engagement and purpose-driven storytelling, we are proud to help amplify the missions that matter most.

Thank you to our clients, partners, and friends who continue to inspire us every day. Together, we are proving that goodness is not just what we create – it’s how we show up, care, and lead with purpose.
