In this week’s edition of The Goodness Report, we’re highlighting the University of California, Irvine, a top 10 public university, drawing students from over 137 countries and building an alumni base 227,000 strong. Who is UC Irvine?

Irvine Global Village Festival
UC Irvine proudly supports many City of Irvine community events. This year, UC Irvine & UCI Health were the presenting sponsors of the Irvine Global Village Festival, an annual event filled with food, art, music, and a celebration of Irvine’s diverse community.
Irvine is one of the nation’s largest urban planned communities, with a population of more than 310,000 and more than 70 different languages spoken in residences throughout the city.
The IGVF provides the opportunity to connect person-to-person with members of the community and incorporates the best of Irvine’s historic fall festivals and includes kids’ activities, local and global cuisine, a global marketplace, music, art and exhibits. UC Irvine engaged with alumni, parents, students, sports fans, Irvine residents and more.
Attendees were able to spin the wheel for prizes, take fun photos with loved ones in the photo booth, and meet Peter the Anteater, all while learning about ways to engage with all UC Irvine has to offer the community – whether sports and entertainment, healthcare or beyond.
The Future of Healthcare in Orange County
For nearly 50 years, UCI Health and UCI Medical Center have been a key part of healthcare in Orange County. UCI Health is the only academic health system in all of Orange County. It delivers the highest-quality medical care driven by clinical innovation and scientific discovery that are only available as part of a world-class public research institution like UC Irvine.
Next year, a new chapter will begin with the opening of the UCI Health – Irvine medical campus, a hub for state-of-the-art care in cancer, neurosciences, digestive health, orthopedics and more.
