Karena Bibbins-McKeever is a Director at Idea Hall and a strategic communications executive with over 20 years of experience building brands, shaping narratives, and driving results at the intersection of culture, community, and commerce. She leads integrated communications programs that are culturally informed, strategically sound, and built to move people—whether that’s a consumer audience, a media target, or a community stakeholder.
Karena brings a rare combination of big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. She has shaped award-winning campaigns for some of the world’s most recognized brands—including McDonald’s, AT&T, Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Michelob Ultra, US Navy, Dave & Busters, and Danone North America—through senior roles at FleishmanHillard, Edelman, IW Group, and Media.Monks. Her expertise spans public relations, brand strategy, experiential marketing, and stakeholder engagement, with a consistent through-line of inclusive storytelling and values-driven communications.
Known for building trust across teams, clients, and communities, Karena approaches every engagement with intention—asking not just what will work, but why it matters and who it serves. Her breadth of experience across industries, geographies, and audiences allows her to see patterns others miss, adapt quickly, and deliver communications programs that are both culturally resonant and business driven.
Beyond her client work, Karena is deeply committed to civic and community engagement. She serves as Chair of Culver City’s Martin Luther King Jr. and Juneteenth Celebration Committee and as a Chapter Lead for Reading Rhythms. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Bloom Arts Foundation, supporting expanded access to arts and cultural programming.
A Detroit native and Penn State University graduate with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in International Studies, Karena is now based in Los Angeles—bringing a people-first perspective and a proven track record to every client she serves.
