Rebecca Hall’s public relations firm has worked on some of Orange County’s major real estate projects—from developing the original branding for the $4 billion OCVibe to coordinating the beginnings of the Dana Point Harbor Partners rehabilitation project, whose cost has since grown to $700 million.
“We’ve worked on some of the biggest things that have ever happened in Orange County,” Hall told the Business Journal. “We’re looking to continue to work with great organizations who want to make a great impact themselves.”
This year, Idea Hall added another notable Orange County organization to its client roster, the Los Angeles Angels, to help the baseball team introduce its newest president, Molly Jolly.
Hall knew Jolly previously through serving together on the board of nonprofit CASA (Court of Appeal and Special Advocates). She said they met for lunch in February, shortly before Jolly’s appointment was announced the next month.
“She’s an amazing leader to work with,” Hall said.
Founded in 2003, the PR firm is on track for 20% annual revenue growth in 2026 with the Angels as a big driver, according to Hall.
Idea Hall’s newer clients also include StorQuest Self Storage, Barclay Butera Interior Design and Irvine-based Golden State Foods, one of the world’s largest suppliers to fast-food restaurants with annual revenue of $5 billion.
Hall said her firm was recently selected by Golden State Foods to work on a “significant” project, though she could not disclose details.
Hall won a Business Journal Women in Business Award last October.
Areas of Growth
One segment that Idea Hall is expanding for existing and new clients is crisis communications and issues management. The firm has so far hired eight new contractors as crisis experts as the area is one of “tremendous growth,” according to Hall.
“We’re in such a turbulent environment, and things can become a crisis so quickly in this kind of environment, and so more organizations I think realize that they need outside counsel to stay objective and hopefully avoid the crisis moment,” Hall said.
Clients have also been approaching the firm on the best ways to be “found” online via search engines and AI platforms. Hall said the firm’s focus is helping clients, and their services or products, be “the answer” for inquiring customers.
“The answer engines prioritize what others say about you and give priority to the most the highest authority,” she said. “So, if you’re written up in the Business Journal or in the Wall Street Journal or (win) an industry award, that can really move the answer engines to source you as the expert.”
Another recent trend is new clients, who may have fallen behind in the digital race, approaching Idea Hall about setting up digital marketing strategies. Hall even brought back a former head of marketing, Carson Turbedsky, to help improve and “push harder” into the firm’s digital marketing capabilities.
“That’s what I love about this industry, it’s always changing. It’s always innovating, and so that’s part of the discipline you have to have as an agency leader,” Hall said. “You can never become complacent.”
