In 2019, The Salvation Army OC set out to address the homeless crisis with a bold vision. Transforming a parking lot into the Center of Hope, they established a new standard of excellence in wrap-around care and services for the community’s most vulnerable members. By 2023, they were ready to launch the Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI) building. This facility expands on-site services and establishes a groundbreaking research center dedicated to solving homelessness. The ambitious fundraising goal: $10 Million.
Idea Hall created and launched the “Be the Reason” campaign to inspire action and create meaningful change. This aspirational initiative combined hope with a clear roadmap for addressing homelessness. The strategy featured a comprehensive Capital Campaign, including original art and photography, brochures, videos, a custom donation website, and a high-profile launch event. Custom invitations, posters, and email outreach amplified the campaign’s reach and impact.
The Capital Campaign launch event attracted high-net-worth community members, driving immediate awareness and support. A spontaneous $50,000 gift during the event underscored its success. Attendees left not only with a deep understanding of the project but also with brochures to share the story and expand the campaign’s reach.
