At Idea Hall, we believe that goodness in our work starts with great purpose, and that every project, partnership, and moment of connection is an opportunity to make meaningful impact.

The Goodness Report shines light on the trends, stories, and events shaping our industry, our communities, and our agency. We’d love to hear your thoughts on our latest roundup of all things good!

October at Idea Hall was a month rooted in purpose, where we rolled up our sleeves, honored bold leadership, and stood alongside organizations driving meaningful change across Orange County. From farms to boardrooms, this month reminded us that every act of good, big or small, helps cultivate a stronger, more connected community.

Team Good Stuff

Second Harvest Volunteer Day

The Idea Hall team spent a day volunteering with our client, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, at their remarkable Harvest Solutions Farm, a regenerative farm dedicated to growing fresh, healthy produce for local families in need. Together, we planted 8,000 broccoli plants (soon to yield another 8,000 crowns!) and harvested 1,200 pounds of Japanese eggplant, which will be distributed to families across Orange County within just 72 hours.

Harvest Solutions Farm operates year-round, rotating crops by season to maximize output and impact. Beyond the rows of vegetables, it represents something bigger, a living example of what happens when community, sustainability, and purpose work hand in hand. We’re proud to support Second Harvest in their mission to nourish our neighbors and strengthen food security, one plant, one meal, one act of good at a time.

Rebecca Hall – OCBJ Women in Business Award Winner

We’re thrilled to share that our founder and CEO, Rebecca Hall, APR, was honored with the Orange County Business Journal’s 2025 Women in Business Award, a recognition celebrating visionaries who are redefining leadership across our region. The award highlights leaders who drive innovation, inspire teams, and create meaningful impact in their industries and communities.

Rebecca embodies that spirit every day. From launching Idea Hall over two decades ago to leading its evolution into an award-winning, purpose-driven agency, her passion for creativity and service continues to inspire everyone around her. This recognition is not just a celebration of her individual achievements but a reflection of the culture of excellence and empathy she’s built at Idea Hall.

A special thank you to City of Hope OC President, Anette Walker, for her heartfelt introduction at the event, a beautiful reminder of how powerful it is when women in leadership lift each other up.

More Good Stuff

Orangewood Ambassadors Event

October also brought an inspiring opportunity to support our client Orangewood Foundation and their unwavering commitment to empowering young people in Orange County. Rebecca Hall and Holly Jenvey attended the Orangewood Foundation Ambassadors Luncheon, joining a room full of community leaders dedicated to helping youth thrive through education, mentorship, housing, and essential life resources.

The event honored changemakers creating life-changing opportunities for youth and unveiled Orangewood’s bold five-year strategic plan, focused on expanding housing and deepening access to critical support systems for young adults. Each story shared at the luncheon was a testament to resilience, hope, and the extraordinary outcomes that happen when a community invests in its future.

We are proud to stand beside Orangewood Foundation as they continue to create pathways of possibility for the next generation. Because when young people are supported, confident, and equipped to lead, the ripple effects of that goodness are endless.

Stop the Scroll – What’s New on LinkedIn

A few notable shifts are reshaping how brands and leaders connect on the platform:

  • Quality over quantity. LinkedIn’s algorithm now prioritizes posts that drive thoughtful engagement, comments and saves weigh more than likes.
  • Carousels & long-form posts are winning. Dwell time drives visibility; the first two lines matter more than ever.
  • Thought Leader Ads expand reach. Companies can now sponsor employee posts to boost authentic voices.
  • Smarter events & newsletters. New analytics and targeting tools make community-building easier and more measurable.

What this means: Lean into storytelling that informs, invites dialogue, and sparks genuine interaction. The most effective content today blends value + authenticity – not volume.

ICYMI – World Mental Health Day

In case you missed it, this month’s feature article was dedicated to World Mental Health Day, shining a light on two of our clients, Be Well OC and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), whose missions are transforming how our communities think about and experience mental wellness.

Be Well OC continues to redefine what accessible mental health care looks like through its countywide model that unites public, private, and nonprofit partners in service of one shared goal: creating a compassionate, coordinated system of care. With thousands of client encounters, mobile response hours, and referrals delivered this year alone, Be Well OC’s impact reaches deep into the heart of Orange County, helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and stability.

Meanwhile, LACDMH is amplifying voices of unity and understanding through its quarterly publication, The Quarterly, which highlights personal stories, creative works, and cultural reflections on mental health. Each edition is a powerful reminder that healing is human, and that connection, culture, and compassion are essential to building a healthier Los Angeles.

Both organizations remind us that when storytelling is rooted in empathy and purpose, it has the power to create real change.
