Here at Idea Hall, we like to celebrate and encourage the champions in our community, particularly in education. We know that it takes especially talented people with patience and passion to work with kids on a daily basis. Our partner Think Together, California’s largest provider of afterschool and expanded learning programs, is celebrating 25 years since it began in Costa Mesa. They help kids in underserved areas with social emotional learning, student learning recovery, STEM education, sports and recreation and homework assistance as well as ancillary services including digital device distribution, Spanish-English translation, school supply kits, and much more.
Big thanks to all the hard-working program leaders and dedicated staff that currently provide free summer learning activities to those students. These paid positions are the backbone of the organization.
And as summer turns to fall, Think Together is already beginning to staff for the coming school year. They anticipate having 2,000 openings statewide, with many in Orange County, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire. It takes all kinds of people to fill those shoes: college students seeking careers in education and social services, semi-retired individuals looking for supplemental income, and stay-at-home parents who enjoy working with kids.
