I recommend it because walking, running and biking with a view of the nature preserve is relaxing and takes me away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and it is accessible on a daily basis. In the early mornings, the Back Bay is an optimal locale to watch a very colorful sunrise over Saddleback Mountain. And, as the sun rises, the critters start to become active... as I walk the trails, I often come across magnificent blue herons and a variety of critters including lizards, squirrels, rabbits, birds, butterflies and the like. On the weekends, I enjoy watching the airplanes take off overhead from John Wayne Airport into the puffy white clouds... The Back Bay is my escape and makes me thankful to live in Southern California.
