If you’re in town for the Navel Academy Graduation (if you are ever invited to this graduation, Go; it is worth the trip) visit Cantler’s Riverside Inn. This is a great place to dine and is known as the place “where the watermen gather.”
You sit side by side with neighbors, crab pickers and culinary diners on the backyard-style picnic bench either on the patio overlooking the river or inside.
We chose the view.
They have a variety of great seafood to choose from; Maryland blue crabs, clams, oysters, shrimp and fish.
We ordered a tray of the crab and enjoyed “cracking” them open with the wooden hammers they hand out on the rolled out brown paper table cloth. The conversation about “how to” was half the fun.
