I'd forgotten how rewarding volunteering was. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer at CASA's Holiday event (Court Appointed Special Advocates). -- If we can touch the lives of the young children and help them now, perhaps we can prevent the large amount of homelessness when they are older. I was so intensely touched by all their faces - watching them have their pictures taken with Santa. Some of the older children couldn't smile, but after some coaxing, they did. The love, care and hope has to start somewhere and what better place to begin. And if I can help "better" the life of one individual than I have not come this way in vain.
